Cleaning in place (CIP)

Our Clean-in-Place (CIP) system is the most effective way to maintain and decontaminate your tubular chain conveyor.

Description

Luxme tubular chain conveyors can be equipped with an optional Clean-in-Place system. The conveyors feature specially designed quick-release air and water connections that facilitate assembly and disassembly. This is a fully automatic, self-cleaning conveyor for food-grade applications. Special features:

  • The conveyor chain and conveyor discs are molded directly onto the chain to eliminate any anchor points where product could accumulate.

  • The conveyor discs are made of UHMW-PE – FDA approved, food grade. The conveyor chain is made of polished 316 stainless steel.

  • The conveyor lines and stations have no anchor points, thus ensuring a thorough washing of the system.

  • The drive and traction sprockets are cast from 316 stainless steel, specially designed to minimize product buildup.

  • The number of joints is kept to a minimum, as required by the CIP system design. They consist of a quick-release clamp with a 6-inch spool to ensure the joints are clean and free of the product being conveyed.
  • The conveyor line is designed so that the chain is under tension while the return chain is under compression (slack). This allows the water jets to thoroughly clean the chain and each of its links.
  • The CIP system is connected to a water or detergent supply. It is designed to flood the conveyor with the cleaning solution. The conveyor can drain through the traction station. These steps are repeated cyclically until the entire wash is complete. Hot air can be supplied to dry the conveyor in preparation for the next batch.
